Need a little motivation to get your workouts pumping? Try out a group fitness class in the beautiful HealthQuest Aerobics Room. A variety of group classes such as step aerobics, kickboxing, weight training, yoga and Zumba are held weekly in the HealthQuest Aerobics Room. All group fitness classess are included with all HealthQuest memberships and are designated on the monthly Aerobic Schedule.
Cardiac Cath Lab
In our modern cath lab, an experienced and highly trained staff and cardiologists perform diagnostic and interventional procedures such as stenting to open narrowed or blocked arteries.
Cardiopulmonary Rehab
Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, or rehab for short, is a medically supervised program that aids in the recovery of cardiac and pulmonary patients by improving their physical, mental and social functioning. Patients regain their strength and confidence when they exercise under the watchful eyes of the cardiopulmonary rehab staff. The space is filled with natural light, quotes meant to inspire, and a beach scene that uplifts and encourages patients to get back into the swing of things.
Cycle Room
Come take a spin in the HealthQuest Cycle Room located beside the Aerobics Room. This room is equipped with ten Life Fitness – LifeCyle GX spin bikes. Cycle classes are included with all HealthQuest memberships and are designated on the monthly Aerobic Schedule. This room is also equipped with a 50 inch plasma TV and DVD player for you to enjoy while you workout. Cycle DVD’s are available for member use at the Reception Desk or members are allowed to bring their own cycle DVDs.
Fitness Area
The main gym area of HealthQuest Fitness & Wellness Center is equipped with over 30 pieces of cardiovascular equipment including but not limited to: treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bikes, rowers, Nu-Steps and much more. Members can enjoy the in-house cardio theater televisions by plugging any headset device into each piece of cardiovascular equipment. HealthQuest also offers a wide range of upper and lower body strength training equipment and a selection of free weights for all abilities.
Hematology Oncology
Johnston Health Hematology Oncology is the result of a unique collaboration with Duke University Medical Center to provide the latest therapies and treatments for patients with cancer and blood-related diseases. Patients receive treatment in the comfort of our spacious infusion room, with seating for friends and family and nurses close by.
Johnston Medical Mall
The Johnston Medical Mall is located across the street from Johnston Health in Smithfield and is home to a variety of outpatient practices. After operating as a textile mill for 88 years, a $15 million renovation in 2003 transformed the building into the Johnston Medical Mall.
Joint Center Rehab Room
Within hours following their joint replacement surgery, patients are brought to the rehab room to begin their recovery. The room allows access to a hydraulic therapy mat, parallel bars, stairs, car simulator to practice getting in and out of cars and a mock-up kitchen area for practice and training.
Operating Room
At Johnston Health, we are committed to providing the latest and best equipment for surgery, including a da Vinci Surgical Robot System. This state-of-the-art technology provides a minimally-invasive alternative to open surgery and laparoscopy for complex procedures, causing less pain, reducing infection risk, and providing better clinical outcomes.
Patient Room
A new patient tower built in 2009 offers 101 private suites for inpatients. These modern rooms offer a private bathroom, plenty of space for visitors and a futon for overnight guests.
Pool Area
HealthQuest Fitness & Wellness Center pool area consists of a saline indoor lap pool, a heated therapeutic pool and spa. Steam rooms are also available in each locker room. A variety of group classes such as water aerobics, SilverSplash, and Joints in Motion are held in the HealthQuest pool area. All aquatic group fitness classes are included with all HealthQuest memberships and are designated on the monthly Aquatics Schedule.
Radiation Oncology
Johnston Health is proud to partner with UNC REX Healthcare to offer radiation oncology services and cutting-edge, comprehensive cancer care at our center in Smithfield. We use the latest technologies such as our linear accelerator to provide a broad scope of services and the highest quality of care to our patients.

All employees at HealthQuest Fitness & Wellness Center are certified in Basic Life Support as well as certified in their area of expertise. If you ever need assistance with your workouts or have a question we are here to help. A lobby is also provided for members to watch TV, read a book or enjoy the vending options.
Rehab Services
Johnston Health’s rehab services provides evaluations and treatments devoted to maximizing recovery and optimizing functional abilities for patients after injury, surgery, illness, long-term disability or other debilitating conditions. Our specialties include physical, aquatic, occupational and speech therapy.
Therapeutic Wound Center
The Johnston Health Therapeutic Wound Center provides patients with state-of-the-art treatment for wounds that have resisted healing despite months, or even years, of conventional treatment. Our center offers many treatment options including two hyperbaric oxygen chambers.

Massage
HealthQuest Fitness & Wellness Center offers a relaxing and serene environment for members and guests to receive massage therapy. Sessions can be scheduled at the Reception Desk and are offered in 30 minute or 60 minute sessions. HealthQuest offers modalities such as Swedish massage, deep tissue, hot stones and pregnancy massage.
Women’s Pavilion Postpartum Room
After giving birth, you will be moved to one of our 16 postpartum rooms. Each room has a private bathroom and shower, and seating for your visitors. You can have meals delivered right to your room, and our lactation consultant is available to help you with successful breastfeeding.
